MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --This summer, the Morning Glory Art Fair will include 135 talented artists from around the country – the most in the fair’s 46-year history.

The free outdoor event will take place Saturday, August 14, and Sunday, August 15, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the plaza in front of Fiserv Forum.

The artists featured at the 2021 Morning Glory Art Fair include a mix of new artists and returning favorites. The 135 artists are from cities throughout Wisconsin and nearly two dozen states that span the US -- from California to Illinois, New York, Florida and states in between.

Each artist accepted into Morning Glory goes through a thorough portfolio review and jury evaluation to ensure they represent the highest level of fine craft and art that the Morning Glory Art Fair is known for. In previous years, Morning Glory has featured 130 artists.

In addition to a record number of working artists, Morning Glory has established a partnership with the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee to highlight emerging artists. The UWM Emerging Artist Tent will showcase five student artists, including a sculptor, printmaker, painter, ceramicist and metalsmith.

"Morning Glory" is a nationally recognized show that showcases fine craft and art in 13 categories -- ceramics, digital art, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and wood.

The event is free and open to the public and regularly draws thousands of attendees to downtown Milwaukee.

Hosted by Wisconsin Craft, the show moved to the plaza in front of Fiserv Forum in 2019. Wisconsin Craft (formerly known as the Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council) was established in 1916 and is the second oldest fine crafts organization in the country.
