Cedarburg getting ready for Winter Festival

CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Cedarburg's 45th annual Winter Festival is coming up quickly Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17. This year's festival has a theme of "Winter Festival Vacation" based off the famous National Lampoon movie.

Festivities will take place throughout the heart of Cedarburg on Washington Avenue from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. For those ready to get outside and test their endurance, camel rides, egg hunts, sledding, ice skating, golfing or hay rides might be in order. Indoor fun includes chili contests, music, beer tasting, an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast and dodgeball tournament.

The popular Ice Carving Contest sets the stage along the city’s main street, where 300-pound blocks of ice will be transformed into glistening pieces of Lampoon-inspired art by talented ice carvers. A tractor-drawn hay wagon provides a great view on Saturday.
