Classic French Open final set with No. 1 Djokovic vs. No. 2 Nadal

PARIS (AP) — Novak Djokovic has held on to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas and reach the French Open final for the fifth time. The top-seeded Djokovic eliminated No. 5 Tsitsipas 6-3, 6-2, 5-7, 4-6, 6-1 in the semifinals.

Djokovic will meet Rafael Nadal on Sunday in Paris. Djokovic is seeking his second trophy at Roland Garros and 18th Grand Slam title overall.

The only men with more are Roger Federer with 20, and Nadal with 19. Nadal would tie Federer’s record if he can win his 13th championship at Roland Garros.

Nadal beat Diego Schwartzman in three sets to improve to 25-0 combined in semifinals and finals at the clay-court tournament.
