MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A decision on whether Milwaukee will accept nearly $10 million in federal money to hire 30 police officers will have to wait until next month.
The Common Council took up a resolution Tuesday, Nov. 24 to adopt the COPS program funding, but Alderman Jose Perez made a motion to hold the item, citing ongoing concerns unanswered about the grant money.
"I believe this is an opportunity to really figure out how we continue to work with the administration and the police department on some real change as we move forward in this discussion and look at some reform," said Ald. Perez.
The adoption to hold the resolution passed unanimously.
The next Common Council meeting is Dec. 15.
