Flight for Life called after Kenosha man crashes car into large piece of construction equipment

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 45-year-old Kenosha man was seriously injured after crashing his vehicle into a piece of construction equipment.

Officers arrived on scene and located a single vehicle with heavy front end damage around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday.

The investigation revealed that the driver was traveling eastbound on Braun Road from East Frontage Road. The area was closed due to construction, and construction equipment was parked on the side of the road. As the vehicle continued driving, it collided head on with a large piece of construction equipment which was unoccupied and parked.

The driver was partially ejected from the vehicle and was seriously injured. He was taken to a local hospital by Flight for Life and he is expected to survive his injuries.

According to police, the man showed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for OWI.

The investigation remains ongoing.
