MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Learn about Milwaukee's history through various tours at Forest Home Cemetery

Forest Home Cemetery is so much more than a place of interment. It's a popular spot to take various guided and self-guided walking tours, especially while the weather is still nice.

This location is considered Milwaukee's oldest operating cemetery dating back to the 1850s. One tour looks at the prominent people from the city's past buried on site. Another focuses on famous art collectors who've made large donations over the years. Event organizers also say this location is a prime spot for those who love the hobby of birding.

Off topic, just a bit.  Forest Home Cemetery also sells honey called "Silent City Honey." You can buy it onsite or online. Money raised goes back to the cemetery itself.

Here is a list of all the public tours available at Forest Home Cemetery.
