Hayat Pharmacy putting medicine disposal boxes inside each of its locations

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Hayat Pharmacy is making it easier for people to get rid of their unwanted and unused medications.

There will be drop boxes at each of its locations.

Working with “Take Back My Meds MKE,” Hayat is the first pharmacy chain in the area to use the boxes.

The goal is to combat the opioid epidemic and keep unused medicine out of Lake Michigan.

Milwaukee County has 76 locations where people can dispose of their unused medications.
