Milwaukee DPW declares snow removal operation overnight April 16-17, some MPS parking lots available for off-street parking
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works has called for an overnight snow removal operation for overnight Monday, April 16 into Tuesday morning, April 17.
That means everyone who parks on the street overnight needs to be on the even numbered side by 11 p.m. so crews can get through, unless a sign posted on the even side of the street says otherwise. Signs take precedence in all areas of the city.
Some Milwaukee Public School parking lots will be available for overnight parking but all vehicles have to be moved from MPS lots by 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17 or risk getting a ticket or being towed.
The following are school parking lots that are available for parking from 7 p.m. on April 16 until 7 a.m. on April 17.
Lincoln Ave School - 1817 W Lincoln Ave.
Longfellow School - 1021 S. 21st Street
Pierce Elementary (Carver Academy) - 2765 N. Fratney Street
Cass Street Playground - 1620 N. Cass Street
Failure to move a vehicle overnight during a declared DPW snow removal operation will result in a $40 citation. Vehicles are subject to a possible tow if they have three (3) or more outstanding citations 65 days or more past due. Remember –you also need a valid overnight parking permit to park on a City street.
