Packers sign defensive lineman to active roster, release RB

The Green Bay Packers are adding a defensive lineman to their active roster, the team announced Saturday.

The Packers signed DL Tyler Lancaster to the active roster from the practice squad. To make room for Lancaster, the Packers released RB Darius Jackson.

Lancaster is a 6-foot-3, 313-pound rookie out of Northwestern. He was originally signed by the Packers back on May 4, before being released on Sept. 2 and then added to the team's practice squad on Sept. 3.

While at Northwestern, Lancaster played in 40 games over four seasons, starting the final 39 for the team. He served as a team captain in his senior year and was honorable mention All-Big Ten after setting career highs in tackles (40), tackles for a loss (9.5) and sacks (two).

Jackson was low on the depth chart for running backs on the Packers and did not record any stats with the team this season.
