Pleasant Prairie RecPlex closed Tuesday due to power outage
Photo Credit: RecPlex Facebook Page PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The RecPlex will be closed Tuesday, December 4 due to a power outage.
The Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue department was called to the RecPlex around 9:48 a.m. for a report of a fire alarm.
A light haze of smoke was reported at the south end of the Aqua Area. Clients of the daycare and therapeutic recreation programs were evacuated.
The investigation revealed that construction workers inadvertently struck a sprinkler pipe which drained water down to the electrical switch gear equipment on the lower level.
There was no fire or injuries reported as a result.
The RecPlex and Aqua Arena will remain closed for the remainder of the day Tuesday to assess and repair electrical equipment.
The Ice Arena will remain open from 2 p.m. till 10 p.m.
The RecPlex is scheduled to reopen Wednesday at normal business hours.
