Police: 2 dead, 13 wounded in Memorial Day weekend shootings in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two people are dead and 13 others were wounded in Memorial Day weekend shootings in Milwaukee. 

Police are investigating eleven separate shooting incidents from Friday, May 22, through Sunday, May 24. 

The following shootings remain under investigation: 

The first shooting occurred near 25th and Chambers around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, May 22. A 30-year-old man suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound as a result of an argument. An arrest has been made. 

The second shooting occurred near 33rd and Auer around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 23. A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was shot numerous times by a known suspect. The victim is currently being treated for his injuries at a local hospital and is expected to survive. MPD has arrested a suspect wanted in connection to this offense.

The third shooting happened near 76th and Silver Spring on Saturday, May 23. A 26-year-old man and 60-year-old man were shot. Both victims are being treated for their injuries at a local hospital and are expected to survive.

The fourth, double shooting occurred near 57th and Fairmount around 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 23. A 19-year-old man and 19-year-old woman sustained minor injuries and are expected to survive. An arrest has been made. 

The fifth shooting happened near 76th and Marion around 3 a.m. on Sunday, May 24. The victim, a 26-year-old man sustained non-life threatening injuries. He walked into a local hospital for treatment. The circumstances surrounding this incident are being investigated. Milwaukee police continue to seek unknown suspects.

The sixth shooting occurred near North 105th and Mill Road just before 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 24. A 16-year-old girl was shot when a gun fight broke out outside of a party, police said. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police continue to seek a suspect. 

The seventh shooting happened outside a Walmart store near Capitol and Holton around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 24. A 20-year-old man sustained non-life threatening injuries, a 29-year-old woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and an 18-year-old man sustained serious injuries. All victims are being treated for their injuries at local hospitals. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Two persons of interest have been taken into custody.

The eighth shooting occurred near North 1st and Concordia around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 24. A 35-year-old man was shot and brought to a local hospital for treatment. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. MPD is still seeking a known suspect.

The ninth shooting happened near 30th and Walnut Streets around 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 24. The victim, a 37-year-old woman sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. She is being treated at a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing and MPD is seeking an unknown suspect.

The tenth shooting happened near 38th and Roosevelt around 10:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 24. The victim, who police say appears to be a man in his 30s, sustained a serious gunshot wound and died. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.

The eleventh shooting occurred near 21st and Meinecke around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, May 25. A 33-year-old man sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound and died as a result. MPD continues to seek the suspect who was known to the victim.
