Racine house fire causes $50,000 in damages

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine officials are investigating a house fire that occurred near in the 3000 block of 20th St. around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20.

Racine Fire Department said a neighbor called 911 after seeing fire int he home across the street.

Fire crews found heavy fire damage in the living room with smoke throughout. 

The single occupant told fire officials she was not home at the time of the fire and claimed no animals were left in the home.

Officials say fire crews contained the fire to the living room area with smoke damage throughout.

The fire caused an estimated loss of $50,000.
