RAGÚ pasta sauces recalled for possible plastic fragments

WASHINGTON (CBS 58) -- Some varieties of RAGÚ pasta sauces are being recalled because they may contain plastic fragments. 

According to a recall alert from the Food and Drug Administration, consumers are asked to examine their refrigerators and pantries for jars affected by the recall and check the Best Use By Dates listed below. 

The recalled sauces include: 

RAGÚ Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 45 oz.

Mizkan America, Inc. says there have not been any reports of injuries or complaints from consumers and is recalling the products as a precaution. The sauces were distributed nationwide and the company says they are working with stores to pull the products from shelves. 

Any recalled sauce should be thrown out and not consumed. Those who bought the recalled RAGÚ  sauces can call a customer service hotline at 800-328-7248 to receive a replacement. The customer service team is available to take calls Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
