MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Sculpture Milwaukee offers a lot to see in the downtown area, and now you have more time to see it. The current exhibition titled “there is this We” will remain on view into next fall, 2022.

"there is this We,” is the line of a poem from Gwendolyn Brooks, the first Black poet awarded a Pulitzer Prize.

The general theme itself is all about igniting social change through imagination. Guest curators Theaster Gates and Michelle Grabner helped spearhead this particular installation.

"All great art asks more questions than it answers. Our Biggest hope is that the artworks will get people curious and excited.  It's an opportunity to explore some of the contemporary issues we're all facing," said Meg Strobel, Director of Community Engagement for Sculpture Milwaukee.

"Sculpture Milwaukee" is spread out over two miles of public and private sidewalks and spaces in downtown Milwaukee and the Historic Third Ward.

In all, there are more than two dozen sculptures, some permanent, as part of the collection. Fifteen were added this year. Both self-guided and group tours are two options.
