Shorewood woman accused of spitting on teen during protest pleads not guilty to charges

SHOREWOOD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The 64-year-old woman accused of spitting on a protester in Shorewood is pleading not guilty to battery and disorderly conduct charges.

Stephanie Rapkin, a Mequon-based tax and estate attorney, was seen on video spitting at a high school student during a racial justice protest in June.

At a court hearing on Zoom Wednesday, July 29, Rapkin's attorney entered the not guilty pleas and filed motions for a change of venue and for a hate crime enhancer to be dropped.

The next court date for Rapkin is Sept. 17.
