Silver Alert canceled for 77-year-old Dodge County man

DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities say the silver alert for John Bachhuber has been canceled.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office received a report of a body located on private property near State Highway 67 in the Village of Kekoskee on Monday, March 2.

Deputies responded and located a deceased male matching the description of John Bachhuber. 

The Dodge County Medical Examiner's Office will be conducting an autopsy of the body and ensuring positive identification.

The case remains under investigation.

DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Mayville Police Department continues to investigate the missing person silver alert issued on Feb. 17 for 77-year-old John Bachhuber.

Police say two separate tips were received on Feb. 18 from citizens who saw John walking southbound on State Highway 67 near Dunn Road between 11 p.m. Feb. 15 and 12:20 a.m. Feb. 16.

Police K9s involved in the search picked up a short scent track on the east side of State Highway 67 in between Dunn Road and Zion Church Road, but were unable to maintain the track.

DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Silver Alert has been issued for a 77-year-old Mayville man. 

John J. Bachhuber is described as a white male, wearing a 3/4 grey coat. 

He was last seen at the Mayville Piggly Wiggly around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15.

John does not have a vehicle.
