Summer-like today, rain returns this week

Another very warm day is expected to kick off your week. If you’re keeping tabs at home, we have had 11 days above normal out of 16 days; today will be 12 out of 17. The average temperature is running almost 4 degrees above average, which is at almost 70 degrees. We have hit 90 degrees already this month. There’s a chance we can do it again today.

A frontal boundary sweeps south this week, breaking the streak of likely 12 days in a row without measurable rainfall. Believe it or not, we are still running almost an inch above average this month with the soaking rain we experience earlier this month. There will be a chance of scattered showers or storms on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This will not be a washout scenario, but just scattered chances.

Expect an area of low pressure and cold front to get rid of this pattern by late this week ushering in fall-like temps. The highs will fall from the 70s and 80s down into the 60s to end the work week and start the weekend. The first day of fall officially begins on Saturday at 8:54 pm.
