MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The 67th annual Spaghetti with the Sisters is back at St. Joan Antida High School, with volunteers expected to make 6,000 of their famous meatballs.

The proceeds from the event are going to help financially support students of the all-girls Catholic school.

"One-hundred percent of what is brought in as cash the day of, goes to the girls. Everything, down to the toothpicks, has been donated this year. There's no cost to the school," Sister Jennifer Daul said.

The high school has a program aimed at getting students interested in different careers, and many find employment right in Milwaukee.

"We have career pathways and that's what a lot of the spaghetti proceeds will support. We have business and IT; we have health care, and we have engineering. We like to get students exposed to that earlier than later in the event they might want to pursue a field in one of those areas," St. Joan Antida High School Board Chair Jennifer Maney said.

"Ninety percent of students will stay in Milwaukee to live and work eventually, when they go to college or come back, or they go to school locally. So, I think it's really important for the city of Milwaukee, and this little gem of a school on the lower east side of Milwaukee."

Historically, the event has raised $1 million and this year their goal is $50,000.

The event offers dine-in, carry-out, and donated deliveries to the Kinship Community Food Center. High school officials expect to make at least 1,000 meals this year.

Supporters can purchase a meal at the school between noon and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6 at the high school, located at 1341 N. Cass St. in downtown Milwaukee.
