Widespread rain and storms return Friday

Two straight days of beautiful weather will be erased by Friday as an upper-level disturbance brings a threat of showers and storms to the region. The initial activity will be elevated and very spotty with much drier air. A warm front will move in during the day on Friday throwing down a stream of moisture and widespread chances of showers and storms by Friday night and Saturday.

To the north, better chances will be during the day while improved chances in our neck of the woods for rain will be late Friday night. Some storms could be stronger with heavy downpours and high winds. The lack of instability should limit any big time storms during the day unless sunshine breaks out.

Rain totals could range from 0.5” to 1.0”. This could still cause some problems in the flooded areas; however, it should not lead to more flooding.
