1 person in serious condition after late night hit and run in car containing 5 children

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police observed a hit and run near 36th street and Florist Ave. around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 22. 

Police chased the vehicle until it collided with two parked cars and a pole near 35th and Silver Spring Dr. 

When police took the driver of the vehicle into custody, a 24-year-old female, they noticed five children in the car with her ranging in ages 1 to 10-years-old.

Two boys, 6 and 3-years-old and three girls, ages 1, 9 and 10-years-old. 

The 6-year-old was conveyed to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The other five children were treated on the scene. 

The pedestrian who was hit, a 42-year-old Milwaukee man was taken to a local hospital and is in serious condition. Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
