Bald eagle shot, killed in Dane County; reward offered for information

DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- There's a reward to find someone who shot and killed a bald eagle near Madison.

Hoo's Woods Raptor Center says X-rays show a pellet lodged in her beak. They believe it wasn't an accidental shooting.

This eagle was also critically ill with a high level of lead poisoning.

The raptor sanctuary says the eagle died in less than 24 hours at their hospital. It's a felony to shoot raptors.

Hoo's Woods is offering a $1,000 reward to find out who shot this eagle.
