Car in Grafton bursts into flames shortly after being purchased

GRAFTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Village of Grafton Fire Department was called out to a car fire on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 4:15 p.m. on I-43 NB near STH 60.

The car was fully involved by the time crews arrived on scene.

The driver, a 37-year-old man from Saukville, was not injured.

The driver told fire crews that he had just purchased the car earlier in the afternoon.

Police say that the investigation revealed that the car had some type of mechanical issue which led to the fire.

I-43 NB was near STH 60 was closed for roughly 10 minutes.

The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office continues their investigation.
