WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- No one was hurt after a car hit a house in the 800 block of N. 60th Street in Wauwatosa.
According to the Wauwatosa Fire Department, the vehicle hit the front of the home around 7:45 Thursday morning. The homeowner and a family member were inside the house at the time.
The Fire Department says the exact cause is still unknown, but the driver told investigators a mechanical issue may have caused the accelerator to stick. Restoration crews say the car was about six feet into the home, causing more than $50,000 in damage.
“Surprised. I know that he had mentioned that he had heard the large crash and the car was still running in the home," said Todd Halbur with Belford Property Restoration.
Crews think it will be about a month before the homeowner will be able to move back in.

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Wauwatosa Fire responded to a crash near 60th and Wells.
According to a tweet from Tosa Fire, a car launched into a house causing structural damage.
The cause of the crash is believed to be a mechanical issue with the car.
CBS 58 has a crew on scene gathering more information.
