RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- High school students in the City of Racine continued their celebration of Black History Month with a lively celebration on Friday, Feb.23.
The gym at Case High School was filled with more than a hundred high school students, watching, celebrating, and enjoying Black culture.
"I'm feeling great, I'm feeling kind of nervous, but everyone turned out, and it’s a good turnout, so I'm really excited," said Samya Gray, a senior at Case High School.
The Black History celebration is the school's first-ever Black Student Union pep rally.
The event featured games, dancing, and the crowd-pleasing Milwaukee Bucks Rim Rockers.
Organizers with the Black Student Union say it's important for Black culture to shine both in society and in the classroom.
"It's very important for information that we have at our fingertips that we continue to expose not only these students but culture in general, to history that's not known, lesser known or that should be elevated and more known," said Corey Prince Advisor for the Back Student Union at Case High School.
The last day of Black History Month is Feb. 29.
