MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Crime Stoppers started the new year off strong, and it's all because of you.

After seeing our story about a man who police say robbed multiple stores at gunpoint, an anonymous tipster called Crime Stoppers. That tip connected the suspect to five armed robberies and led to his arrest.

CBS 58 shared video of two men stealing a gun from a security guard at the Family Dollar on North 35th, and then fleeing the scene. The tipster told police they recognized the man as Lavaun Fuller.

Police were able to arrest him in connection with five robberies all committed within two months -- one of them he's accused of shooting a customer in the shoulder.

"Due to the community using Crime Stoppers, those crimes were solved. It's working. It shows people don't want to have crime in the community and they want to use all the resources that they can. Crime Stoppers is just one tool in the toolbox that they can use to try to help police and make neighborhoods safer," said Ryan Pattee. Milwaukee Crime Stoppers Board Co-President Ryan Pattee.

This is just the latest example that your tips work.
