MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The family of missing 28-year-old Milwaukee DJ Humberto Suarez, also known as DJ Himmz, confirms he was found dead.
The family shared the news on social media Saturday morning. Suarez had been reported missing since Friday, March 29.
Suarez was a popular DJ in the Milwaukee area. The news of his death hasn’t been easy on the community.
“He had a passion for it. He loved creating the vibe, creating the party,” Diego Martinez, also known as DJ DMatic said.
Martinez said he rose up in Milwaukee’s music scene with Suarez, but now he’s mourning his friend’s death.
“This one is going to hurt. He was young, he was gifted,” Martinez said.
Suarez performed at Points View Boîte many times. The club will hold a moment of silence and have a toast for him at the lounge late Saturday night.
“It's a big loss today, for sure,” Points View Boîte Owner Marcos Ramos-Garcia said. “His laughter, his smile, his energy you felt it through the mic, you felt it through his turntables.”
Many say Suarez was respected in the community and had a promising future. They'll now remember him through his music.
“He’ll go down as one of the greats in the Latino community, in the south side community,” Martinez said.
Milwaukee Police have not commented on the circumstances surrounding the death only to say that Suarez had been found.
