Kenosha woman charged after altering the price of items at Walmart

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 25-year-old Kenosha woman has now been charged after police say she altered the price of items at a Walmart.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to the Walmart, located at 3049 S. Oakes Road, for a shoplifting report.

According to loss prevention, the woman altered the prices of items and went to the self-checkout area where she paid for her items.

The woman allegedly bought two laundry baskets for $.98 that were originally $12.44, an auto drive 9-foot wiring harness for $.98 that was originally priced for $9.87, and an electrical repair kit for $.98 that was originally priced at $19.97.

The woman admitted to altering the prices because she was "just broke."
