MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The principal at Milwaukee's French Immersion School is talking about the trip of a lifetime.
"It was really amazing. It was more amazing than I ever thought it could be," said Principal Gina Bianchi who is now back from Washington. D.C.
Bianchi was the guest of Senator Tammy Baldwin at French President Emmanuel Macron's speech to Congress.
Before she left, she used the experience as a teaching tool at her school. "I walked into one of the 4th-grade classrooms and they were watching a little video clip in French about President Macron's visit. So it was really neat to be able to stop and tell the students, 'I'm gonna be there and I'm gonna be representing our school and this is the sort of neat opportunities you get when you speak a second language'," said Bianchi.
Bianchi toured the Capitol while she was in Washington. She didn't get a chance to meet President Macron but if she had the chance, she says she would have thanked him in French.
