MPD: Critically missing woman found deceased, 41-year-old taken into custody

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, a 41-year-old male was taken into custody in connection with the incident. Police say the incident is domestic violence related. The investigation is ongoing.

Update on April 17 at 6:58 p.m. 

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, Stewart was found deceased on Wednesday, April 17 near 29th and Ruby. 

Police are investigating her death as a homicide and are seeking a known suspect.


MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Dept. is asking the public for help finding critically missing 41-year-old Tomitka Stewart.

She was last seen on Sunday, April 14 at around 5:30 p.m. in the area near 10th and Center in Milwaukee.

Stewart is described as an African American woman, 5'6" tall, weighing 140 lbs., with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes.

Officials describe her as last being seen wearing a purple and white sweatshirt, Spider-Man t-shirt and black jogging pants.
