July has been warm and dry.... until today.
Low pressure finally brings some much needed rain to the area, and in some cases record breaking totals!
Take a look:
:
We had especially heavy downpours this afternoon leading to an Urban Flood Advisory for a few hours as some spots like Milwaukee and Racine saw over an inch of rain in just a few hours.
We even had a very brief and weak tornado touch down north of the viewing area, just after noon. It was on the ground for less than twenty seconds and caused some minor tree damage.
Now the weekend is upon us and many are hoping for dry times to enjoy all the outdoor events. While we won't be completely dry, things are looking up.
On the back side of this low, a few showers will rotate across the state on Saturday, but it should stay isolated in nature. Any early showers Sunday should give way to sun breaks by the afternoon. The following week looks warmer with 80s and plenty of sun.I'm meteorologist Rebecca Schuld
