Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Stealth
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Milwaukee’s Deer District is debuting a new event space. It’s another sign of business returning during the pandemic.
Gather at the Deer District is located on the second floor of Good City Brewing. It is opening this week for weddings, parties and other events.
“This is 6,000 sq. ft. of flexible space,” Milwaukee Bucks and Fiserv Forum President Peter Feigin said.
With the Milwaukee Bucks allowing fans at 18 percent capacity, the hope is to bring more life back to the area.
“We think that there will be real excitement and enthusiasm for people to get out once COVID restrictions are done and modifications are done,” Feigin said. “We’re kind of planning for that. We think that we'll see that as the summer comes and as the fall comes, there will be a real pent-up demand for hospitality.”
Deer District leaders say Gather will follow all COVID-19 guidelines from the city and the CDC and will expand capacity when allowed.
“We definitely expect to get back to a normal, a new normal as everyone says, pretty quickly,” Fiserv Forum and Milwaukee Bucks VP of Booking and Events Starr Butler said. “It’s places like this that will really allow us to do so, with the opening of the space, to bring people back down to the area.”
There are around 10 events currently scheduled for the next few months at Gather at the Deer District.
