KENOSHA, Wis (CBS 58) -- Kenosha police are reporting that a deadly apartment fire took place at about 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30 near 36th Ave. and 48th St.
Officials say that two males, one adult and one juvenile were declared dead at the scene. They say that per protocol they will treat the incident as a potential crime, though there is no evidence currently suggesting foul play.
According to Kenosha authorities the fire was extinguished within an hour.
"I was sleeping and just heard tons of sirens and I was like, 'what's going on, what's going on? And that's what happened and I'm really sad. I'm really sad to hear the little boy died," said neighbor Crystal Ehlert.
Another neighbor said, "It's crazy because it can happen to anybody, and it makes you want to be aware of before you go to bed at night."
KFD and KPD say this investigation is open and active and there will be no further comments from either until Monday.
