Saladino's sac fly propels Brewers to second straight win
MILWAUKEE - Tyler Saladino lifted a sacrifice fly to center field in the bottom of the tenth inning, scoring Lorenzo Cain and leading the Brewers to a 5-4 win over the Nationals Tuesday night.
The Brewers found themselves down 4-0 after an inning and a half, but whittled away at the Washington lead in the middle innings. An Eric Thames RBI groundout plated the Crew's first run, followed by a two-run homer from Christian Yelich to cut the lead to 4-3. Cain's RBI single in the seventh tied the game, setting up Saladino's heroics in the tenth.
The bullpen played hero once again, as five relievers combined to throw four scoreless innings in relief of Junior Guerra, who gave up just one earned run in his return from the disabled list.
The Brewers are 57-45 with the win, and they'll go for a three-game sweep of the Nationals Wednesday afternoon at 1:10 at Miller Park.
