Sheboygan Police: Mom dies of suspected drug overdose while young children are in home

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Sheboygan Police Department is currently investigating a death that is consistent with a drug overdose.

Police responded to the 2300 block of Mayflower Avenue in Sheboygan for a report of an unresponsive female shortly after 12 p.m. on Monday.

Responding officers found several citizens along with two children, ages six and two, in the front yard.

One of the children said that his mother was sick inside and needed help.

Officers located the 35-year-old woman dead inside of the bathroom.

The investigation revealed that a 26-year-old Sheboygan woman had delivered suspected heroin to the victim earlier that morning.

A search warrant was served at the suspect's residence where officers located marijuana and ecstasy.

The female suspect was arrested along with her 28-year-old boyfriend.

Charges have been referred.

The investigation remains ongoing.
