Two arrested after allegedly stealing from Germantown Walmart, high-speed chase and crash
GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) – Two people are in custody after police say they stole from a Germantown Walmart and led police on a high-speed chase.
Investigators say around 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3 officers responded to a theft in progress at the Walmart on Appleton Avenue. Police later found the susp3ect vehicle on County Line Road and started following the vehicle. The vehicle then fled southbound on I-41 reaching speeds of around 110 mph, according to officers.
The suspect vehicle then crashed at STH 145 and 91st and the two people inside the car tried to run away before being taken into custody.
Police say the driver, a 36-year-old man from Milwaukee, had five outstanding warrants and his passenger, a 39-year-old Milwaukee woman had four outstanding warrants.
A request for charges was sent to the Washington County District Attorney’s Office for the woman for retail theft, possession of heroin, drug paraphernalia, illegally obtained prescription medication, and resisting/obstructing. Charges were requested for the man for felony eluding, retail theft, and resisting/obstructing.
