West Bend Police: Man dies from medical condition, crashes car into utility pole

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The West Bend Police are currently investigating the death of a 72-year-old man.

Police were called to the intersection of South Main Street and Butternut Street for a report of a traffic collision.

The investigation revealed that the man was driving his car in the 300 block of Butternut Street when he collided with a utility pole located on the northeast corner of the intersection.

Officers found the driver slumped over in the driver's seat. The vehicle was locked and an officer broke a window to gain entry.

The driver was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police believe the man's death was from a medical condition unrelated to the traffic collision.
