(WFRV) A Fox Cities fugitive wanted on a homicide charge back in 2007 was arrested on January 20 in New York by U.S. Border Patrol.
Manishkumar Patel was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents in upstate New York three days ago.
Nine years ago, Patel posted $750,000 bond on a charge of killing his girlfriend's unborn child.
Prosecutors say Patel was having an affair, and slipped an abortion pill, RU 486, into his girlfriend's drink, causing her to have a miscarriage.
The Border Patrol says it's working with the Outagamie County Sheriff's office.
Agents conducted a traffic stop in Malone, New York because the vehicle was believed to be involved in criminal activity.
Patel allegedly had a fraudulent passport that had expired in December of 2016.
Patel told the agents he was not who his travel documents indicated.
Patel then gave the agents his correct information.
Agents completed a records check and it revealed Patel was wanted by Outagamie County for several felony charges including homicide of an unborn child.
Patel is being held in New York for possible federal immigration charges.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department is working with the US Border Patrol and US Marshal’s Service.
