50-year-old woman dead in Germantown multi-vehicle crash

GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 50-year-old woman is dead following a multi-vehicle crash that happened on I-41 southbound in Germantown on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

Police received numerous 911 calls reporting a rollover crash involving four vehicles.

Officials say a 50-year-old Kewaskum woman crossed the center median cables and struck a southbound vehicle driven by a 50-year-old Milwaukee man. According to police, the Kewaskum woman's vehicle then spun and was struck by another southbound vehicle -- driven by a 29-year-old West Bend woman along with a 3-month-old baby.

The Kewaskum woman's vehicle then rolled into the west ditch line of I-41 southbound.

A fourth vehicle, driven by a 49-year-old man, crashed into the median cables and avoided the initial crashes.

Police say the Kewaskum woman was transported to Froedtert Hospital where she died from her injuries.

All other drivers and passengers involved suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The Wisconsin State Patrol will be assisting with reconstructing the crash scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
