Brewers set 25-man roster, but more moves imminent
SAN DIEGO - The Brewers released their 25-man roster just before 9:00 Wednesday night, ahead of Thursday's Opening Day game in San Diego against the Padres. But that roster may not be in place for very long.
First basemen Ji-Man Choi and Jesus Aguilar are both listed on the team's official roster. Choi, a Korean first baseman who has played for the Angels and Yankees, batted .409 this spring with ten runs batted in.
That first roster only lists 11 pitchers, and the Brewers have reportedly agreed to a deal with left-handed relief pitcher Dan Jennings, formerly of the Tampa Bay Rays. The acquisition of Jennings will force the Brewers to make a move, likely sending Choi back to the minor leagues.
The Brewers battle the San Diego Padres at 3:10PM Thursday in the first game of the regular season. The first game at Miller Park is Monday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
