RACINE COUNTY (CBS 58) – A car was pulled out of several feet of water on a road along the Root River Canal Tuesday morning in Racine County.
The car got stuck on Three Mile Rd. just west of Interstate 94 Monday evening. Workers from the tow truck company that was called to help say the driver got out of the car safely and wasn’t hurt.
On Tuesday morning, portions of the road were still covered in several feet of water. Crews had to swim to the vehicle in order to tow it out. One employee says situations like this are a good reminder to be extra cautious after heavy rain.
“You hear high water, don’t drive through it,” Bob’s Mobil Service worker Bobby Katterhagen said. “Especially in modern day cars because it sucks the water right up through the intake system and then they’re done.”
Katterhagen said Tuesday’s tow was the deepest he’s ever pulled a car out of flood waters.
