Chicago man arrested for OWI in Milwaukee after traveling the wrong way on I-94

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A wrong-way driver has been arrested for an OWI.

A squad was dispatched to a vehicle stopped in the left traffic lane on the westbound I-94 off-ramp to Hwy 100.

It happened around 4:25 a.m. on Friday.

Dispatch advised the deputy that the vehicle had made a U-turn on the ramp and was traveling the wrong way.

The deputy was able to stop the wrong way driver.

According to a release, the driver was mumbling incoherently and performed poorly on field standardized tests.

The driver was identified as Federico Barrionuevo-Martinez, 24, of Chicago. He faces a felony charge of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.

He was also cited for OWI, Driving Wrong Way on Divided Highway, and Reckless Driving.
