Driver arrested for 5th OWI after crashing into tree and running into woods

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine County Sheriff's Office responded to a single car crash Saturday afternoon around 12:22 p.m. A caller reported that a SUV left the road and hit a tree on State Highway 11 just east of Highway 83. The caller told dispatch that the car was driving recklessly before the crash.

The driver fled on foot into a wooded area.

Racine Sheriff’s Deputies tracked the suspect and took him into custody identifying him as 42-year-old Dover man Bruce Young.

Young was arrested for his 5th OWI, driving without a license and other traffic violations.

The driver was taken to Memorial Hospital in Burlington with non-life threatening injuries.
