GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Jordy Nelson is saying goodbye.
In a tweet posted Friday morning, Jordy Nelson said he has been, "blessed to call Green Bay our home and Wisconsin will always be a part of our lives."
Jordy said he and his family have many fond memories and will miss the people of Wisconsin the most.
The Green Bay Packers wanted Nelson to sign a contract for a huge pay cut only paying him the minimum the NFL requires for a veteran player - just over a million dollars.
Instead, Jordy visited with a few NFL teams and signed with the Oakland Raiders where he will make a guaranteed $13 million.
Packers Fans, my family and I would like to say THANK YOU for your support over the last 10 yrs. We have been blessed to call Green Bay our home and WI will always be a part of our lives. We have many great memories and it’s the people we will miss the most. Until next time...... pic.twitter.com/JnLnkEPspH
