Local Restaurant Offers Support to Slain City Worker

The Packing House in Milwaukee is honoring the life and offering support to the family of Greg Zyszkiewicz, the city worker who was killed last week.

The restaurant is holding a fundraiser, donating $1 for every fish fry told Friday.

The staff have been preparing all week for more than 1,900 expected orders. People on social media have said they will come from the other side of the city just to support the family.

Most of the restaurants 60 or so employees, and several volunteers will be helping with the big crowds.

Chris Wiken, the general manager, said he and the restaurant have been in contact with the Zyszkiewicz family, and invited them to join them for dinner tonight.

“They are very very thankful. I’ve had each and every one of them reach out in some way and say this is just incredible what you are doing. And thank you so much. It’s glad to know it’s appreciated and we’re glad to help,” Wiken said.

There will also be donation boxes for anyone else who wishes to donate any additional funds.

The drive thru here is opening an hour earlier at 2, and the restaurant will be open until 10 pm.
