MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee couple is now facing several child abuse charges.
Together, 45-year-old Juanita Acker and 31-year-old Brandon Kronquist face 28 charges from child abuse to attempted homicide.
In the criminal complaint, the children living with Acker and Kronquist accuse them of repeated acts of violence.
They say they were choked, kicked, and beaten with bats, belts, and cords. They say Acker tried to kill one of the children who has a disability by cracking his neck.
According to the criminal complaint, they also say Acker got drunk every night and tried to burn the house down.
The kids said they would hide in the basement, sometimes inside the washer and dryer.
Both Acker and Kronquist have hearings coming up in October.
