MPD releases community briefing video on officer-involved shooting at 64th and Sheridan

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department released a community briefing video Wednesday regarding an officer-involved shooting that left a man in critical condition March 24.

It happened near 64th and Sheridan around 11:15 p.m.  

Police said they responded to the area after receiving several calls reporting shots fired in the area. 

Upon arrival, they located an armed suspect who fled on foot. Police said during the chase, the suspect fired shots at officers and multiple officers returned fire, striking him several times. 

The 20-year-old was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The incident is being investigated by the Milwaukee Area Investigative Team and the Wauwatosa Police Department is the lead agency.

Milwaukee police say the three officers involved remain on administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
