Police officer injured in multi-vehicle accident on Highway 41 in Slinger

SLINGER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Late on Wednesday around 11:21 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was called to a crash with injuries on Highway 41 a half mile south of Highway 60 in Slinger. A Slinger Police Officer was hit head on by a car that went off the road while driving north on Highway 41.

The same car went into the south lanes of Highway 41 and was hit by another car. Highway 41 was shut down for an hour to clean up the multiple crashes and tow the cars involved.

The Slinger officer and a 56-year-old Horicon woman were transported to area hospitals for minor injuries.

An investigation showed that the Horicon woman hit an icy patch and hit the police officer who was parked in the emergency turn around. After the woman's car went into into the southbound lanes it was hit by a 19-year-old Illinois driver whose car rolled onto its side. The teen was not injured.
