Shots fired after home owner confronts suspect during Dane County home invasion

Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an armed home invasion in the town of Medina.

The incident happened shortly after 3 a.m. on Friday.

At least one person forced entry to the home but fled when confronted by a resident who was home at the time. There were several shots fired and no injuries were reported. The suspect or suspects fled prior to Deputies arrival.

Dane County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating the incident, but believe the home was targeted and the public is not in danger. For safety reasons, the Sheriff’s Office is not identifying the victim or their address in this case, at this time.
