Two Milwaukee homes damaged by fire Saturday night and Sunday morning

A family of five is out of their home  as the result of an early morning fire Sunday.  The fire was reported around 6:40 AM in a home at N 23rd and W Locust Streets.   According to the Milwaukee Fire Department, the fire was located in the second floor of the 1 and ½ story wood frame house and then extended into the attic.   The Red Cross was notified to assist the two adults and three children who were displaced by the fire.  No estimate of the dollar amount of damage is yet available and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Late Saturday night, Milwaukee firefighters responded to a fire in a ranch style house at N 25th and W Stark Streets.  The fire was reported around 11:45 PM in an attached garage and according to the MFD, there was some fire damage to the living area of the house.   MFD said no one was home at the time of the fire.  Damage to the structure is estimated at $60,000 and the cause is still being investigated.
