West Bend woman charged with child neglect after overdosing with five children in home

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A woman is facing drug charges after police say she overdosed while five kids were inside the home.

A 17-year-old at the home called 911, saying she couldn't wake up her mother.

When officers got there, they found a 39-year-old woman unconscious in the bathroom of the home. Officers believed she overdosed and gave her Naloxone.

The woman regained consciousness and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. She was then charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and child neglect.

The woman's four children, ages 17, 15, 10, and 7, were at the home during the time of the overdose.  A 17-year-old friend was also in the home. The children were released to relatives.
